Dhaka Cantonment Girls Public School & College (DCGPSC) is a prestigious educational institution located in Dhaka Cantonment, Bangladesh. Established in 2005, the school and college offers quality education from nursery to higher secondary level for both military and civilian students. The institution aims to produce academically well-educated young women, with highly developed interpersonal skills and a broad range of interests, who can compete at any level with the brightest and the best, both nationally and internationally.

History:

Dhaka Cantonment Girls’ Public School and College started its journey in August 2005 intending to create dynamic womenfolk for future Bangladesh. Lt Col Md Zahid Hossain, AEC (Retd as Brig Gen) was posted as first Principal. Initial works were started under the supervision of the AHQ Education Directorate. Brig Gen Md. Golam Hossain the then Comd, Army Sig Bde was nominated as the first Chairman of the Governing Body of the institution by the then Chief of Army Staff.

Objectives:

To make each girl as an asset to ensure their participation in various social and cultural activities. 2. To inspire each student to exhibit honesty, discipline, wisdom, competence, humanity, and dedication in their character. 3. To inculcate dynamic leadership qualities in each student through various co-curricular activities 4. To enable the students to go ahead and introduce them to modern technology. 5. To make a conscious citizen inspired by the feelings of humanity, honesty, patriotism, and our liberation war. 6. To make a promised citizen inspired by the feelings of solidarity, diversity, and mutual harmony.

Campus and Facilities

DCGPSC is situated in a scenic and serene environment, free from the noise and pollution of the city. The campus covers an area of about 10 acres, with spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a rich library, a computer lab, an auditorium, a cafeteria, a playground, a mosque and a dormitory. The institution also has its own clubs for running extra-curricular activities, such as debating, quiz, science, sports, cultural, literary and social welfare clubs. There are four different houses in which the students are categorized for academic and extra-curricular activities: Jahanara House (Red), Rokeya House (Green), Sufia House (Blue) and Hasina House (Yellow).

The vision of DCGPSC is to be a center of excellence in education for girls in Bangladesh. The mission of DCGPSC is to provide quality education that fosters intellectual, moral, physical and social development of the students. The institution strives to create a conducive learning environment that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, leadership and teamwork skills among the students. The institution also seeks to instill a sense of patriotism, discipline, honesty and respect for diversity among the students.

Admission Process

DCGPSC admits students in nursery, KG, class one to nine and class eleven every year. The admission process consists of written test, oral test and interview. The admission circular is published on the institution’s website http://dcgpsc.edu.bd/ and notice board. The admission form can be downloaded from the website or collected from the office. The admission fee can be paid online or by card. The admission test is conducted according to the syllabus prescribed by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB). The admission test result is also published on the website and notice board.
